Thank you for your interest in a custom pet portrait. I aim to make the process simple and fun, and I look forward to working with you.

Ordering Your Commission

1. Choose Your Photo

In order to produce a great painting, I need a good quality, clear photograph to work from.

Things to consider when choosing a photo reference:

  • For portrait commissions, I work from reference photos supplied by my clients. So that I can capture a true likeness of the subject, it is vital to have a clear photograph to work from. Ideally, the photograph should not be too dark or shady and should give a detailed view of the subject's face.

  • Separate images can be combined if you wish to place more than one subject into the artwork.

  • I enjoy painting subjects in candid poses and with natural backgrounds, so don't feel that the pose must be too formal. For example, if you have a great shot of your pet leaping to catch a ball, or sleeping in a spot of sun, by all means send me the photo and we can discuss the vision you have for the finished artwork.

  • Think of your photo as a starting point, unwanted objects and clutter in the photograph can easily be omitted in the finished portrait.

2. Decide on Medium

I offer either graphite (black and white) or coloured pencil.

3. Decide on Size

Check out the price list below to decide on which size you would like your artwork. If you want a specific size that is not listed, just get in touch and we can discuss your requirements.
